TED is a well-known nonprofit dedicated to “Ideas worth spreading.” TED’s beginnings were in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment, and Design converged. Today, almost every topic is covered in over 100 languages across the globe, and TED reaches smaller communities through TEDx —independently run events that stay true to TED’s format.

In 2014, a group of teachers and administrators from the Langley School District decided to harness the excitement of being on the horizon of 21st century education. They applied to become TEDxLangleyED — a TEDx devoted to discussing what the future of learning looks like. At our TEDxLangleyED event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group setting. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

The first TEDxLangleyED event took place January of 2015. Now, TEDxLangleyED approaches its fourth event, taking place January 2018.
